I'm
Dr. Santiago De Ossorno
A bilingual Counselling Psychologist and Psicólogo General Sanitario working across Spain and the UK, offering brief, strategic therapy that creates meaningful change.
What makes working with me different
I bring together the best of two professional worlds: UK training in evidence-based psychological therapies and Spanish clinical formation that goes beyond the standard Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-only route. As a Counselling Psychologist, I'm trained in multiple therapeutic models and choose the approach that fits you, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
I'm direct and warm. I present authentically and work pragmatically, bringing both clinical skill and scientific rigour to our sessions. My dedication is to work hard for my patients while preserving the boundaries and excellence that make therapy effective.
What I care about most is helping you make meaningful progress efficiently, doing more with less, so therapy remains accessible. I understand what it means to navigate between cultures, languages, and systems, bringing cultural competence to the core of my practice.
Who I Work With
I work with Spanish-speaking clients in Spain, UK residents, and Spanish speakers living in the UK. All therapy is available fully in English or Spanish.
As a counselling psychologist and trained mental health professional I can work with a wide range of populations, I have specialised in Adults and Children and Young people, I care about promoting change, delivering help at the time of need and providing the best care possible, even if that means that other, more suited services or professionals should work with you before me.
I support people facing:
Migration and expat challenges
The stress of building a life between cultures.
Work stress and imposter syndrome
Feeling inadequate despite your achievements.
Life transitions and grief
Navigating change and loss.
Obsessive-compulsive difficulties

My approach
Brief,
Strategic,
Solution-Focused,
Human-Centered Therapist
Research-Backed Efficiency
I specialise in brief therapies, short-term approaches backed by research showing that focused interventions can create lasting change. Some clients see me once; others work with me for 1-8 sessions weekly, occasionally extending to 12-16 sessions when needed. I believe in giving patients autonomy to return when they need to, yet I can work with you on an ongoing basis if needed. I have trained and refined my craft to help and enable change, acknowledge then the relationship may not be working, or the model may not be adjusting to your needs. This means I try to give you the best care possible in the shortest possible time. I have a pluralistic approach and the privilege to have trained in a variety of models, this means I can be strategic with you on how to best serve your goals, needs and circumstance. I may not always get it right, but I use data we collect in each therapeutic relationship to support us to see if things are actually working or not.
Therapeutic Methods
Together, we clarify what you want to achieve, use proven techniques tailored to your needs, and build a collaborative relationship focused on meaningful progress.
Our
Philosophy
In an era of corporate therapy platforms and AI chatbots, I believe in preserving what matters: qualified, experienced professionals offering genuine human connection and evidence-based care. I am a digital native, but I use technology wisely. Only when required.
Door to Therapy is a digital practice model I created to help independent practitioners run high-quality, accessible online clinics for mental health. Technology should make access easier, but the therapy itself remains a space for reflection, growth, and meaningful change, it is science in its most artistic form, applied and contemporary, focused on humans.
